Terms of Service

The terms, in plain language.

DRAFT — pending attorney review

What this service is

Clear Parting Docs is a software product. It prepares New Jersey court documents from the information and decisions you give it — like a very careful writing assistant. The software calculates, fills, and organizes. It does not decide for you.

What it is not

We are not a law firm. We do not give legal advice, we do not represent you in court, and using this service does not create an attorney-client relationship. When a question requires legal judgment, the software stops and points you to a New Jersey attorney — whom you hire and pay directly. Clear Parting Docs does not bill for legal services and takes no share of legal fees.

Your responsibility

You review every document before you sign and file it. Documents are prepared from your answers; their truthfulness is yours. Certifications are signed under penalty of perjury.

Court fees

Court fees (for example the $300 filing fee) are paid by you directly to the court and are never marked up. The court sets its own schedule and its own outcomes: we do not guarantee acceptance of any document or any result.

Refunds

Full refund within 30 days of purchase if you have not yet downloaded your completed packet — no reason needed, just ask. After download, we refund any purchase where the software failed to do what this page says it does. What we cannot refund is a court's decision: a clerk can reject a filing for reasons that have nothing to do with the documents we prepared, and a judge can require a hearing. If your filing is rejected, tell us what the clerk said — we will fix anything on our side at no charge, and that report makes the pre-flight check smarter for everyone. Email support@clearpartingdocs.com to start a refund.

Accounts, and what the two of you can see

You are responsible for keeping your password safe. Each spouse has their own account, and the case is shared: both of you see every answer, every document, and the history of who changed what. Nothing you enter is private from your spouse, and nothing here is confidential or privileged the way a conversation with your own attorney is.

Electronic signatures

When you sign a document in this product you are signing electronically, and you agree that your electronic signature and the records around it have the same effect as pen and paper under the federal E-SIGN Act and New Jersey's UETA. You may withdraw that consent by stopping — but a document already signed and filed cannot be unsigned by us.

Limits on what we owe you

The software is provided as is, without warranties beyond what this page states and what New Jersey law does not allow us to disclaim. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from this service is limited to what you paid us for it. We are not liable for the outcome of your case, for a court's decisions, or for choices you make about your own divorce.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of New Jersey, and any dispute belongs in the state or federal courts sitting in New Jersey. This service is offered only for New Jersey matters, to people in New Jersey.

Changes and contact

If we change these terms we will update this page and the date below; material changes will be shown to you before they apply to a new purchase. Questions, refunds, or anything else: support@clearpartingdocs.com.
